Emergency Response Training
|
|
DISASTERS ... ARE YOU READY?
Individuals with developmental and other disabilities living in community-based homes are particularly vulnerable during emergencies. The Emergency Response Training DVD verbally and visually demonstrates emergency situations and features a separate individualized segment for the individual receiving services.
The program easily addresses training goals and objectives that may be incorporated in the individual consumer plan and can also be used for initial skill assessment.
This video strongly emphasizes the importance of emergency response training. The target of the material is the critical role the DSP supporting people with intellectual or developmental disabilities plays in becoming prepared for a disaster.
This video and curriculum meets all Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (ODMRDD) licensure emergency response requirements (rule 5123:2-3-11) regarding drills and training individuals receiving services, and it provides approved disaster training checklists for caregivers and consumers. (Note: ODMRDD is now the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD)).
Content areas: Types of Disasters, Prep or Disaster Plan, Evacuate or Stay and Dialing 911
