 Full Description:
Helen Sanderson Associates (HSA) is an organization that seeks to work with people all around the world to achieve person-centered change and social justice. They provide resources and training for organizations, communities and schools around person-centered thinking, planning, reviews, budgets, and practice for many populations, including people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their person-centered approach is described on their website by the following:

"Put simply, person-centered planning is a way of assisting people to work out what they want, the support they require and helping them get it. For people being supported by services, it is not person-centered planning that matters as much as the pervasive presence of person-centered thinking. If people who use services are to have positive control over their lives those who do the day to day work need to have person-centered thinking skills.

Only a small percentage of people need to know how to write good person-centered plans, but everyone involved needs to have good skills in person centered thinking, in the value based skills that underlie person-centered planning."

Examples of what HSA does:

* Provide training and consultancy for families, for people who want to develop their own plans, and for organisations. (In the UK, USA, Canada & Australia)
* Create person-centered resources including books, minibooks, DVDs, templates and training materials
* Conduct empirical research and share true stories of the positive impact of person-centered planning are available on their website
* Maintain blogs to keep people updated on what HSA is doing
* Create a Youtube channel containing many videos related to person-centered planning
