Why This Is Important

Using apps is important to people with disabilities and enhances their quality of life since apps provide easy and mobile access to all kinds of information. Today’s self-advocates commonly carry smartphones and tablets as they navigate the community and the right apps can help them in many ways. Some apps provide information of special interest to people with disabilities, like where the accessible entrance to a building is located, while others help people with skills, like remembering when to take their medication or contact their DSP.

In this department, you will find listings for those apps designed with people who have disabilities in mind, as well as reviews and other resources that show how apps can be useful to people with specific types of support needs. Be sure to check back often since apps are always changing, and help by nominating the ones that work best for you.
