Why This Is Important

States directly administer a wide variety of programs for people with developmental disabilities. Over the years, states have pioneered important changes and innovations that have led to substantial changes in the services and supports that are available to people with developmental disabilities and families. Innovations and initiatives that individual states sponsor and promote often catch the attention of stakeholders in other states and lead to important changes elsewhere. Here Quality Mall visitors will obtain news about state efforts to promote person-centered supports. Such efforts might take the form of launching major system change change initiatives or making important policy changes that reflect the principles of person-centered supports.
