Family Support and Respite

Why This Is Important

Families are the most important resource there is in the provision of care and support for people with disabilities. Enough and sufficient support for those families impacts the rest of the entire services system. Without family support, more people end up in professionalized services. With the right support, the chances are greatly improved for people with disabiities to realize their greatest potential. Respite is critical to maintaining the health and well-being of the whole caregiving family. In this department you will find resources, information, and examples of exemplary programs in family support and respite.
